Position Description:
- Applies Subject Matter Expertise from experience as military Air Crew, or aircraft Maintainer, to collect and analyze data and develop flight clearance related content for USN/USMC aircraft and associated weapons systems.
- Coordinates and executes the management and development of all assigned Flight Clearances products (IFC/NATOPS/NATIP).
- Develops required content and facilitates the content progression through airworthiness assessment for airworthiness approval.
- Creates and presents formal briefs in support of new or changing fleet capabilities and develop IFC/PFC content from program technical source data.
- Develops, prepares, and manages material required for the operator to employ, safely and effectively, the aircraft and its weapon systems.
- May also analyze data and solve problems as required to support exceptionally complex technical and organizational tasks.
- Possesses the ability to communicate well, both orally and in writing.
- Requires the ability to develop and follow implementation plans for configuration management of technical data.
- Requires the ability to perform in a team environment, demonstrate leadership, decision-making and self-starter qualities.
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft (MS) products and possess a strong computer-use background to include using editorial and graphics software running on local, networked, or web-based platforms, and websites.
- Demonstrates proficiency with Airworthiness enterprise tools, processes, and procedures by the development of flight clearance product content, generating requests, overseeing the flight clearance review process and finalizing and releasing the flight clearance products to ACO.
- Develops experience and understanding of the purpose of and need for providing guidance and support to the aircraft system Program Offices.
- Holds a Product Developer empowerment letter and will continue with specific and recurring Product Developer training.
Education: Bachelor’s degree is required.
- ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTIONS:
- Two (2) years DoD Aviation or flight clearance product set experience and an Associate degree may be accepted in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree. These two (2) years of experience are in addition to the required minimum of five (5) years to meet the “Experience” requirements, requiring a total of seven (7) years of experience.
- OR Four (4) years of DoD Aviation or flight clearance product set experience may be accepted in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree. These four (4) years of experience are in addition to the required minimum of five (5) years to meet the “Experience” requirements, requiring a total of nine (9) years of experience.
Minimum Previous Experience:
- Five (5) years of DoD Aviation Operator or Maintenance Management or flight clearance product set experience.
Clearance:
- US Citizen with the ability to obtain a DOD Secret clearance.
